Interior Designer Tip #7 – TOP 3 MAIN FRONT DOOR COLORS

It's now or never to dare color. Here are our interior designer's three tips to help you with your final entry door color choice.

1. Bourgogne

This color remains a classic and scores points with light and white exterior siding combinations, as well as dark grays and blacks. The versatility of red is remarkable. From light to dark, it blends beautifully with both modern and traditional styles. Deep red, as shown in the image above, adds a classic touch and pairs well with black, gray, green or taupe. If your main stone cladding is nuanced, this can give you an indication of the color of the accessories. For example, if there is black in the stone, our interior designer recommends black or bronze. Match handles, civic numbers, mailbox and wall lights with the same metallic finish.

2. Dark green

Deep green pairs perfectly with brick red/salmon/peach or any other neutral background. The interior designer is using this color with lighter trim rather than black or charcoal because the contrast isn't strong enough. The concept can also be very interesting with natural woods or walnut colors. Accessories in shades of brass or gold add a touch of elegance, but black should be avoided as it will blend into the color of the door. A dark green door conveys a stately, elegant, peaceful and graceful owner.

3. The blue jewelry box

The intensity of this turquoise color is a version of Tiffany blue or Birk blue. It is a reflection of a personal style to be linked to history or architecture. It works with all styles; traditional, mid-century and Arts and Crafts style houses, etc. and with brick, stone or stucco in a neutral color, beige, cream or yellow. The interior designer appreciates a semi-gloss or gloss finish or paint because it reflects daylight, in addition to being easy to maintain. Additionally, turquoise adds vibrancy to the front of the house, making the front door the focal point. Silver will add even more shine to your door, but you can also go for a more dramatic style by choosing black accessories. If you ever dare this flamboyant color, you like the good things in life and you are not shy to share it with your neighbors.
